Pictures from Wed, May 16 & Thurs, May 17

Here are a few pictures from Wednesday evening and Friday.  It gets kind of boring being in the room all of the time and Sara can not stand to be in the room.  When we are in there, all she does is scream.  Since most of the families in our group are on the same floor, we hang out in the hallway for the kids to play.  Really it is kind of gross when you think about sitting in a hallway and letting your children play on the floor, but it is amazing what you will do to keep your sanity :)  Seriously, it is great to have the support of other families going through the same thing that you are.
Here is Sara, sucking her thumb, as we sit in the hallway with a few other moms and kids.
Wednesday evening, Eric and I and Sara walked with Ross and Lisa and their daughter Kendra to Pizza Hut.  It was very good..actually better than Rantoul Pizza Hut :)  The above picture is of the people we were crossing the street with.  Pedestrians, bikes, scooters and cars, all share the same road, and sometimes sidewalk, to get where you need to go....total craziness.
Unlike Ava who would eat anything while we were in China, Sara will ONLY eat the Chinese food that she is used to from the foster home, and hospital.  After numerous tries, we finally got her to eat a piece of crust.  The foods that she likes best are steamed eggs(I will take a picture at breakfast Friday), congee(another picture) Chinese dumplings, sticky rice and noodles.  Uh...this may be a problem when we get home!!
Here s a picture of us and the DeVries family.  It was a great night of fellowship and fun.  We laughed so much that night that our stomachs hurt...well it could have been the food, but I would rather say it was the laughter!
On the 15 minute walk back to the hotel, the girls were too cute as they both sucked their thumbs!
On Thursday morning after breakfast, we walked with the Wirtzberger family to a local park and spent several hours with them.  Here is Sara napping and two of the W. girls blowing bubbles.
Eric and Sara and I at the park.  After the park we all decided to head to McDonald's for lunch.  We ordered Sara a cheeseburger, and of course she spit it out.  She would not even eat the bun or cheese...but she loved the french fries.
Here you can see the tan lines on her wrists.  We were waiting for daddy to get us ice cream...hopefully she will like that.  What a nutritious lunch for her!!
Her first bite she was not too sure...but after several bites and 1/2 of cup later.....
She decided that she loved it!!
Here we are with the Wirtzberger family eating our ice cream outside.  Notice all of the scooters parked around us.  I think that Friday we will be spending the morning with them again and will also have an afternoon trip to Walmart.  No pictures from there though since I got scolded the last time I took pictures.  Then, on Friday evening, most of our group is going to meet for dinner together at a local restaurant to celebrate Lisa and Ross' 18th wedding anniversary, and to celebrate getting to leave Zhengzhou on Saturday to fly to Guangzhou.  Only 9 more sleeps until we come home.  I have never been more ready to do that.  This trip has been a tough one....we miss the kid terribly and can not wait to see them.  We are doing ok though.  Please continue to pray for us.
