Some of you may know we were stressing over seats on the flight here. The evening before we left we changed our seats and upgraded to economy plus. Basically 6 more inches of leg room. We took the window seat and isle seat leaving a seat vacant between us. The plane is almost completely boarded and a gentleman came to us and pointed to his seat between us. I traded my seat for his so Lisa and I could sit together. We quickly discovered he was part of our adoption travel group. He was a farmer from Kansas. He and his family (wife and 3 children) got up that morning at 2am to fly to Chicago to take a flight to Hong Kong. When they arrived at Chicago, their original flight was delayed by several hours and they would miss their connecting flight from Hong Kong to Beijing. He was so thankful that his original flight was delayed because now this change actually cut about 8 hours off of their trip. During our conversations during the flight he shared how God had made several things like this happen for them through the adoption process. Remember how we were stressing about not sitting together, well his entire family was split up on this flight, but he was so thankful they were able to be on this flight. Funny how your perspective changes due to circumstances.
At breakfast this morning we were amazed at how several people were telling us of different adoption experiences and how God is working in their lives. It is so encouraging to hear people praising God for all He has done in their lives through adoption. One family has adopted several children and it makes such a statement many people question them as whey they have adopted so many, they said it opens the door to share the Gospel. The power of God on display in people's lives and proclaiming Christ. It doesn't get any better.
This brings to mind a verse I found. Hebrews 13: 15-16 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise - the fruit of lips that confess His name. And do not forget to do good and share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
