I never imagined that it would be such an ordeal to book flights!! I called United Friday to book flights, and was finally able to pay for them last night. With the adoption fare, which is cheaper than a regular fare, the reservation needs to go to the fare desk where they calculate your fare. It can take up to 72 hours for your fare to come back....CRAZY!!
Well, here is our schedule.
We depart O'Hare on Thursday, July 20th at 12:18 pm on UA flt# 895, arriving in Hong Kong on Friday, July 21st at 4:50pm. On the return, we depart Hong Kong on Thursday, August 3rd on UA flt# 896 at 12:45pm and arrive back at O'Hare on the 3rd at 2:17pm....wow, only 1.5 hours to fly home!!!
So, we will have all day Saturday to tour Hong Kong and 3 nights of rest before getting Ava. I think that on Sunday the 23rd, we will fly to Chongqing and get situated there and have another night to sleep(hopefully!). Then on Monday the 24th in the morning, our travel group will all take a van to the Fuling orphanage, about an 1.5-2 hour drive, where we will get to pick up our girls and see the orphange. We will drive back and then in the afternoon go to the civil affairs office for adoption registration.
We should get our complete day to day intinerary soon and then I will post that. We would greatly appreciate your continued prayers that Ava is healthy, that our flights are safe and uneventfull, and that Ava's transition into our family, both in China and home, is an easy one for all of us. Thanks again for all the support and prayers we get from all of you
