We have a new addition to our clan out at "The Woods"!! We have been talking about getting a horse for a while and have been looking for about a month. On Saturday, our very dear friends Stan and Mary, spent the whole day with us in Arthur at Rockome Gardens. After riding on several horses, we decided Jack was the one for our family.
Jack is a 17 year old Palomino Appaloosa gelding and is a gem!! He is totally "bomb-proof". Eric was in his stall drilling in some screws and Jack never flinched.
The kids are really enjoying having him and are very willing to help out with him. We hope that the novelty does not wear off.
Maria is so in love with him. She actaully got up at 6am before school, hurried up to get ready, and went out with me to feed him and clean the stall.
Sunday was a beautiful day in Potomac and everyone took a ride on Jack bareback since we don't have a saddle yet. We hope to have a friend for Jack in a couple of months....6 year old Allie will join the gang! She is a jet black Missouri Fox Trotter we are getting from Eric's Uncle Bill....pictures coming soon.
