I think that I have mentioned it before, but while in Guangzhou, locals and shop owners would ask where our girls were from. After replying they were from Chongqing, they would say, "Ahhh, Spicy Girl". Well while in China, Ava was pretty quiet and very mild mannered. We never really got a rise out of her or saw her upset. She was an angel when we took her out to eat and was pretty mellow during all of our travels and adventures. A response we often got about Ava was, "Ahh, not too spicy".
Well, the girl IS spicy after all!! She is still awesome in a restaurant and Loves to go "bye bye", BUT, the spicy part of her personality is starting to show. She has the funniest little fits...she doesn't think it is funny, but we do. She is used to the kids catering to her every need, but now they are back in school and mom is just one person, compared to the 3 of them. She is wanting to see what she can get away with and tries to push our buttons. We are standing our ground with her....but she is so darn cute that it is hard to tell her "No", especially when she pouts.
We had a visit with our social worker yesterday for the DCFS report. It was a good visit and Jane though that Ava was doing well. She really is, especially considering what her first 15 months of life were like. We are going to have her developmentally evaluated to see where she is at. We don't think that she is too far behind, but she is in some areas. So, if there is an area that we can get some help for her, than we are going to do it. I think that speech may be an area she is behind, but we know she can talk because she says "Bella", our dog, all the time. She understands everything we ask her, she would just rather point or shake her head instead of talking.
Well, that is all for now. Keep checking back. I promise, one day soon there will be pictures!
