Well, we got up at 4am today, but we still got 7 hours of sleep. I just thought I would share more about our journey up to this point. I forgot to mention that with our flight delay, we sat on the plane for 2 hours before we actually took off, while the pilot waited for more passengers to arrive from their delayed flights to O'Hare. It was not too bad, but it just made us sit on the plane for 2 hours more than we needed to.
Well yesterday morning when we got up, we made hot tea with water from the hot pot in our room that we boiled. We sat on the bed, ate tropical trail mix, drank hot tea and watched National Geographic!! Kind of fun actually! This morning we woke up early again and did sort of the same thing....had hot tea and watched National Geographic again. And of all things we watched a show on airplane disasters!
Hong Kong is an amazing city. It appears to be clean and is very modern. The city itself is not very large so everything is very tall...the skyscrapers. That way they are able to fit a lot more into less space. We even saw several cemetaries that are built into hillsides. It is all very interesting. We are glad that we went with the guided tour with our group. It was so hot here that it was nice to get into the air conditioned bus after each stop. It was also a great time to spend time with our travel group and get to know eachother better.
Today we will meet our guide, Mandy, in the hotel lobby at 12:15 and then we will all walk to the airport together for our trip toChongqing. We will be staying at the Hilton and then will leave at 8:30am on Monday morning to get Ava(Sunday evening at home).
Please continue to keep Ava in your prayers that the sore she has is not serious, that it will not require surgery and will heal on its own. Also, please continue to pray for safe travels for us and that our health stays good. That is all for now....next post we will have Ava!!!
