Here is Nicholas with the doe that he shot on Saturday. He was so excited. It is his first deer.
Here are Nicholas and Eric. Hunting is something that they really enjoy doing together. Nicholas has been going with Eric since he was around 4 just to sit with him He has had his own hunting permit for the past 3 years. When he was 8, Nicholas, Frank and my dad went to Hunter Safety classes for a 12 hour seminar.
This is when they first arrived home with the deer. They said as soon as Nicholas shot it, the deer just dropped!! They did not have to go looking for it in the woods. Nicholas uses a muzzle loader, so he only gets one shot. A few days ago, he and Eric bought a bow, so he will start bow hunting as well.
They braved some cold weather this weekend. On Friday and Saturday mornings it was only 17 degrees when they went out.
